2. What are the different types of POA in Dubai?
General POA – Grants broad powers to the agent.
Special POA – Limits authority to specific tasks (e.g., selling a car, managing property).
Property POA – Specifically for buying, selling, or managing real estate.
Business POA – Grants authority to manage business-related affairs.
3. How do I get a POA notarized in Dubai?
The POA must be drafted in Arabic (or bilingual format), then notarized at the Dubai Notary Public or through online notary services provided by Dubai Courts.

7. Can I revoke a POA?
Yes, you can revoke a POA anytime by issuing a revocation notice and notifying the agent and relevant authorities. Steps to Revoke POA:
i. WRITE A REVOCATION LETTER-Clearly state that you are cancelling the POA.
ii. NOTIFY THE AGENT –Inform the person you gave authority to.
iii. INFORM YOUR RELEVENT PARTIES-Lets banks or institutions that used the POA
know.
iv. SIGN IN FRONT OF A NOTARY
v. RECORD THE REVOCATION-If the POA was registered, update the records.

8. Does a POA expire after the principal’s death?
Yes, a POA automatically becomes invalid upon the death of the principal. After death, only the executor or legal heirs can handle.

9. How much does it cost to get a POA in Dubai?
The cost varies depending on the type of POA and whether you use a lawyer. Notary fees typically range from AED [amount] to AED [Amount].

10. How long does it take to get a POA in Dubai?

If all documents are in order, it can be processed within 1-2 days at the Dubai Notary Public. If additional attestation (Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Embassy) are needed, it may take up to a week.

11. Can a POA be given to multiple people?
Yes, you can appoint multiple agents in one POA. This is known as a joint or “co-agents" POA, where two individuals are designed to act on your behalf. You can specify whether they must act together (jointly) or if each person has the authority to act independently. It’s important to clearly define the power and responsibility of each agent to avoid confusion or conflicts.

12. Can I use an online service to issue a POA?
Yes, Dubai offers online notary services through the Dubai Courts e-Notary system.
